The teachers were all ladies; I particularly remember Miss Drew, Miss Shillaker and Miss Caborn (headmistress). Conditions were spartan (often with dormitory shutters open to the elements). Brr! But the food was quite good, often with second helpings. Long walks and exercises were a feature.
